My most saved post was a one-line Mac tip

Grant Miller (@AIGuide_) posted a ten-step Grok Bot content workflow yesterday. It's a good list. The step I keep thinking about is number five: rank your own posts against your own median, and weight bookmarks, reposts and replies heavily "so a post with lots of empty likes doesn't fool the system."

I had already run a version of that on my own account, and the result was humbling.

What my own numbers said

I had my agent pull my recent posts and score them. It got 54 unique posts from September 9 to October 17. Most of them were replies. The best like count in the whole set was 5, and most posts sat at 0 to 2 likes.

So there was no banger to copy. If you only look at likes, the data says nothing.

Bookmarks said something. The most saved post was a single line about how Ominput for @OmarchyMac shows you how to turn on three finger swipe to switch workspaces on a Mac, with a link. Four bookmarks, five likes, 643 impressions. Tiny numbers, but no other post in that window got saved as often.

That matches Grant's point. A like is cheap. A bookmark means someone thinks they'll need this later. If I rank against my own median and count saves first, the lesson is to post more concrete Mac and agent how-tos and fewer opinions.

The rest of his list, from where I sit

His step two is to trace the source before drafting: check the claim, check that it's current, and check whether the obvious angle is already everywhere. I care about that one more than the growth parts. A lot of the agent content on X this week is the same "it's getting dangerous" post with a different screenshot. Checking the original before riffing on it is the only way I know to avoid adding another one.

Step nine is keeping everything in draft mode, and I mostly do. My setup has a weekday routine that scans X for workflow posts like his, writes a take in my voice from a file built off my old posts, and runs the drafts through a judge panel that throws out anything bait-y or unsourced. The drafts wait for me. The one exception I allow is a single post per day, and only when nothing else went out from that account in the last few hours.

I'm leaving his multi-account step and the Monday analytics step for later.

What I'm changing

Bookmarks first when I compare my own drafts. More how-tos with a link, fewer reactions. And when I riff on someone's post, it gets credited and linked, like this one.

Credit to Grant Miller for the original workflow.
